Regular Season Round 17: Partizan - Cluj Napoca 90-79

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Beograd where leader RomanianCluj Napoca (9-6) was defeated by second ranked Serbian Partizan (14-1) 90-79 on Saturday. Partizan made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Cluj Napoca turnovers. Partizan looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American-German center Dylan Osetkowski (206-1996, college: Texas) who scored 20 points. American Sterling Brown (197-1995, college: SMU) chipped in 15 points. Five Partizan players scored in double figures. American point guard Daron Russell (180-1998, college: Maryland) produced 19 points and 6 assists and Serbian center Dusan Miletic (213-1998) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Partizan have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. Defending Serbian champion maintains second place with 14-1 record having just eight point less than leader Spartak. Cluj Napoca lost third consecutive game. Defending Romanian champion still keeps top position with six games lost.
